Art and Soul (virtual) Gallery

The Art and Soul Gallery migrated to a wholy virtual gallery in April 2010.

As you can see from the images, the gallery has a very varied selection of work produced by myself and a selection of other artists, ranging from paintings, glass in various forms, metal, jewellery, photography through to felt and ceramic sculpture.

If there is any item or artist's work you are interseted in please email or ring me to discuss it.

In the mean time here is a little bit of information about me.

Bev Smith

I am a west country artist working in two forms, figurative ceramic sculpture and landscape painting.

I studied applied art at Plymouth College of Art and Design as a mature student, graduating with a first class honours degree in 2003.

In my ceramic work I love to use the human form, as I am interested in expressing the human spirit, emotion and movement- hopefully with more than a touch of humour.

The beauty of using the human form is that it is something to which we can all relate, thus encouraging us to view the sculpture from the inside out. In so doing I hope to create an empathy or reaction to the work.

My paintings are of the places I love to be - mostly the sea. I consider myself to be a very lucky person living here in the west country and continually try to express this in my art.

I hope that you enjoy viewing my work as much as enjoy producing it.
